Obverse description Blue intaglio print on multicolour underprint. A portrait vignette of Jón Sigurðsson is placed at right, with a view of the Parliament House (Alþingishúsið) in Reykjavík rendered at lower centre. Denomination numerals appear in guilloche panels at left and right, with the issuer title and authorising legislation inscribed across the face.

Reverse description Printed in blue intaglio, the reverse carries a sweeping panoramic vignette of the Almannagjá rift canyon at Þingvellir, with columnar basalt cliffs flanking a path leading toward Þingvallavatn lake and distant mountains beyond. The bank's circular seal with the Icelandic coat of arms is at lower left, and denomination numerals occupy guilloche panels in the upper left and lower right corners.
