The effigy occupies the central portion of the coin with the truncation at the lower left. A circular beaded border runs the full circumference. The surrounding legend KRISTJÁN ELDJÁRN FORSETI ÍSLANDS arcs along the upper portion, with 1968 – 1980 along the lower right, denoting his presidential term. |
