Comments

Sveriges Riksbank's 1000 Kronor notes of this period were the highest denomination in everyday institutional use, moving between banks and major commercial houses rather than passing through ordinary retail circulation. Few members of the public would have handled one directly. This was instrument-of-settlement money — used to clear large debts, transfer significant sums between financial institutions, and manage the Riksbank's own accounts.

Survival rates are exceptionally low, not from wear but from cancellation. Redeemed notes were routinely punched, cut, or stamped by the bank before destruction, and most known survivors carry some form of official cancellation mark from that process.
