The print date of 30 April 1945 is striking — that is the day Hitler died, and just days before Germany's unconditional surrender in Norway on 8 May. Norwegian authorities were already preparing currency infrastructure for the post-occupation transition, and this series was part of that broader effort to restore legitimate monetary institutions after five years of Reichskommissariat control.

Oberthur Fiduciaire, the French security printer, has held the Norges Bank contract across multiple modern series. Pick 57 belongs to the "Coastal Norway" thematic programme launched by Norges Bank in 2017.
