| Opmerkingen |
Slovakia's highest-denomination note at independence, this issue entered circulation in January 1993 when Czechoslovakia split and the newly formed Národná Banka Slovenska needed a complete note series within weeks. The tight production schedule made Thomas De La Rue the obvious choice — the London printer had the capacity and the existing relationship with Prague that eased the transition.
Jim Moore's engraving work on this series is among the finer examples of De La Rue output from the 1990s, though it rarely gets mentioned alongside the firm's more celebrated commissions. The note remained in issue for over fourteen years before euro accession planning made the entire koruna series redundant — Slovakia joined the eurozone on 1 January 2009.
