Opmerkingen

The American Bank Note Company printed this note in New York during the Japanese occupation of Indochina — a geopolitical peculiarity that made direct supply to the colony impossible. These notes were produced for the Free French administration in exile and intended for eventual reintroduction, though the practical path to circulation was far from clear at the time of printing.

The undated format was deliberate, preserving flexibility for an issuing authority that had no firm control over when, or whether, it could deploy them. P#45 is closely related to earlier Indochine high-denomination types but distinguishes itself through its ABNC printing provenance, which is traceable through the company's own archived production records.
