| 备注 |
The type 1829 thousand-franc note was among the earliest large-denomination issues from the Banque de France to incorporate a fully engraved design of any sophistication. Andrieu was a medallist of considerable reputation — he had cut dies for Napoleonic commemoratives — and Normand was a trained architectural engraver; their collaboration here was unusual pairing for a banknote commission.
The issue window of 1829–1831 brackets the July Revolution of 1830, which toppled Charles X and installed Louis-Philippe. Notes already in circulation passed through that political rupture without reissue or overstamp — the Banque de France's charter survived the regime change intact, a deliberate reassurance to creditors.
At this denomination, genuine public circulation was essentially nil. These moved between institutions and wealthy merchants, and surviving examples passed through very few hands before retirement.
