Beschrijving voorzijde The national coat of arms of Cameroon occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a balance scale and surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by two crossed fasces with axe heads. The motto words PAIX / PEACE, TRAVAIL / WORK, and PATRIE / FATHERLAND appear in bilingual French and English above the shield elements. A ribbon below the shield bears the bilingual inscriptions REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON and REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN runs along the upper rim, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in large characters along the lower field.

Aanvullende informatie

The Bank of Central African States issues coinage on behalf of six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — under a shared monetary framework that dates to the post-independence reorganization of the CFA franc zone in 1972. This 2011 issue is a collector piece rather than a circulating coin; BEAC's commemorative silver program has long targeted the numismatic export market rather than domestic circulation, generating foreign exchange for member states whose everyday coinage remains largely aluminum and nickel-brass.
