The female figure, rendered with flowing, voluminous hair that dominates the upper field, gazes upward with an enigmatic expression, her outstretched hands partially submerged among aquatic vegetation. Water lily blossoms and broad lily pads fill the lower right portion of the field, while a frog and small aquatic creatures animate the foreground. A Slavic folk ornament, resembling the Flower of Life motif, appears incuse in the lower central field. The legends RUSALKA and SLAVIC BESTIARY are incised in the lower central area, identifying this coin as part of a thematic series. The entire design is struck in vivid green-colored proof finish. |

The "Rusalka" series takes its name from Slavic water spirits — drowned maidens believed to haunt rivers and lakes, a mythology with no particular connection to Cameroon. These issues are produced for the international collector market under license, a now-common arrangement whereby sovereign minting rights are leased to European distributors who develop the themes entirely independently of the issuing state.
KM#504.2 distinguishes the green colorway from the broader Rusalka release, a variant designation tracking color application rather than a separate die.
