Reverse description Within a raised circular boss occupying the central field of the rectangular klippe planchet, an ornate interlaced royal monogram of Prince Charles, Prince Regent of Belgium, is rendered in fine relief. The cypher is composed of elaborately intertwined cursive letterforms with foliate flourishes and scrollwork, characteristic of the decorative engraving style of the Belgian mint in the mid-twentieth century. The surrounding field of the klippe is plain and unadorned, framing the central boss. No legend or inscription accompanies the monogram.
