| Mô tả mặt sau | The reverse features a finely detailed high-relief bust of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, facing slightly left, rendered in a realist portrait style against a mirror-polished proof field with a subtly engraved architectural background suggesting the Kremlin. The Cyrillic legend В. ПУТИН ЧЕЛОВЕК ГОДА (V. Putin, Person of the Year) arcs along the upper rim. The English inscription PERSON OF THE YEAR curves along the lower left field, while the French equivalent PERSONNALITÉ DE L'ANNÉE is inscribed vertically along the right field, both in raised Latin lettering. |

Issued by BEAC on behalf of Chad, one of the six member states of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community, this piece belongs to a wave of silver commemoratives produced by African monetary authorities primarily for the European collector market — the coins never circulated and were not intended to. Chad has issued under this arrangement since the early 2000s, with subjects ranging from world leaders to wildlife, the selection driven more by anticipated collector demand than any diplomatic or historical relationship between Chad and the subject.
