The national coat of arms of Cameroon is depicted centrally on a finely dotted (guilloche) field, showing the shield with scales of justice, flanked by two crossed fasces and surmounted by a five-pointed star. Two supporters flank the shield, with the bilingual motto inscribed on ribbons. The circular legend reads 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' at the top and 'REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON' at the sides, with the motto words 'PAIX / PEACE', 'TRAVAIL / WORK', and 'PATRIE / FATHERLAND' positioned around the arms. The denomination '1000 FRANCS CFA' is inscribed in bold relief along the lower arc of the field. |

Cameroon's commemorative coinage program from this period was largely driven by the European bullion and collector market rather than any domestic monetary need — these pieces were struck by overseas mints under license and never meaningfully circulated within Cameroon itself. The "Papillons d'amour" issue belongs to a wave of themed collector silver that flooded the market around 2008–2012, targeting gift buyers rather than numismatists.
KM#24 is a low-priority reference in the series, with limited auction history to establish reliable secondary market pricing.
