Obverse description The national coat of arms of Cameroon is depicted centrally on a finely dotted (guilloche) field, showing the shield with scales of justice, flanked by two crossed fasces and surmounted by a five-pointed star. Two supporters flank the shield, with the bilingual motto inscribed on ribbons. The circular legend reads 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' at the top and 'REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON' at the sides, with the motto words 'PAIX / PEACE', 'TRAVAIL / WORK', and 'PATRIE / FATHERLAND' positioned around the arms. The denomination '1000 FRANCS CFA' is inscribed in bold relief along the lower arc of the field.
