备注

Burundi's 1000 franc note circulated through one of the most violent decades in the country's modern history — the civil war that began in 1993 following the assassination of President Melchior Ndadaye ground on well past this series' introduction, displacing hundreds of thousands and placing enormous strain on the central bank's ability to maintain reliable note supply. Inflation during the late 1990s eroded the 1000 franc's purchasing power considerably.

The series ran for over a decade across multiple date varieties, making date attribution the primary collecting variable within Pick 39.
