| Additional information |
Ian Fleming published the first Bond novel, Casino Royale, in 1953 after drawing heavily on his wartime experience running naval intelligence operations — Unit 30 Assault Unit, a commando team he personally designed to capture enemy intelligence materials. Cameroon's numismatic program has issued a steady stream of pop-culture themed coins since the 2010s, largely marketed through European distributors to thematic collectors rather than circulated domestically.
Fleming died in 1964, never seeing the film franchise reach the cultural saturation that now drives commemorative issues like this one.
