Guinea's central bank has issued a long-running series of small-format gold coins under novelty licensing agreements, typically tied to fairy tales and fables. This piece falls within the Hans Christian Andersen strand of that program. The coins are struck by external mints under contract — almost certainly the Bern-based PAMP or a comparable private facility — rather than any domestic Guinean facility, as Guinea has no gold coin minting infrastructure of its own.
