The BCEAO issues currency on behalf of eight West African nations — Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo — yet coins of this type are produced purely for the collector market and never circulate in those economies. The arrangement is essentially a licensing agreement: the issuing authority lends its legal tender framework to a European distributor, collects a fee, and the coins are sold directly to hobbyists in Western markets.
Yorkshire Terriers have no cultural connection to the issuing region whatsoever.
