Reverse description A large full-color photographic portrait of a Yorkshire Terrier's head dominates the left and central field, rendered with fine detail in applied color printing showing the breed's characteristic tan and silky coat. To the right, a smaller color vignette depicts a stylized female figure walking a small white dog on a leash. Scattered across the mirror-polished field are embossed motifs of dog paw prints and bone-shaped ornaments. The inscription YORKSHIRE TERRIER arcs along the upper border in raised lettering, and the date 2012 appears in the lower field flanked by paw print devices.

Additional information

The BCEAO issues currency on behalf of eight West African nations — Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo — yet coins of this type are produced purely for the collector market and never circulate in those economies. The arrangement is essentially a licensing agreement: the issuing authority lends its legal tender framework to a European distributor, collects a fee, and the coins are sold directly to hobbyists in Western markets.

Yorkshire Terriers have no cultural connection to the issuing region whatsoever.
