| Obverse description | The Togolese coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting two rampant lions flanking a central shield bearing the monogram 'RT' within a stylised octagonal frame. Above the shield, two national flags are crossed, each bearing a five-pointed star, surmounted by a ribbon scroll inscribed with the national motto in three parts: TRAVAIL, LIBERTE, and PATRIE. The country name REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE arcs along the upper legend in large Latin lettering, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower periphery. The entire design is struck in proof finish against a mirror-polished field, with a beaded border encircling the coin. |
