| Additional information |
Burkina Faso joined a crowded field of African sovereign mints licensing their nominal authority to European bullion producers — primarily the Bavarian State Mint and B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt — to issue collectible silver rounds carrying CFA franc denominations. These pieces circulate nowhere and are struck entirely for the international numismatic market. The ruthenium and selective gold plating are finishing techniques applied in Germany, not Ouagadougou.
