The Jinni series was produced by a European private mint for the Burkina Faso nominal authority — one of several West African CFA-zone states that license their name to collector issues having no practical circulation history whatsoever. The coins are legal tender in name only; the face value is a fraction of the silver melt price, and none have ever appeared in everyday commerce in Ouagadougou or anywhere else.
