Benin's CFA franc coins are struck under license rather than by a national mint — the country issues no coinage through its own facility and relies on private European mints, in this case almost certainly the Bavarian State Mint or a comparable contractor, to produce collector pieces sold largely outside the African continent. The "Source of Life" series targets the international bullion and themed numismatic market rather than domestic circulation; no example of this type entered everyday commerce in Benin.
