Surrounding the central medallion is a richly coloured decorative border executed in vivid polychrome enamel-style colouring, featuring intricate interlaced foliate and zoomorphic motifs including stylised lions, serpents, and floral elements in deep reds, blues, greens, and golds, evoking the aesthetic of illuminated manuscript or traditional textile ornamentation. |
