| Beschrijving voorzijde | The Gabonese national coat of arms is depicted in high relief at the centre, featuring the escutcheon supported by two black panthers, with a ship on the shield. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE GABONAISE arcs above along the rim, with the date 2024 positioned in the upper field. The denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in the lower field beneath the arms. The overall design is struck in brilliant proof-like gold against a polished field, with all elements rendered in sharp relief. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts a highly textured, three-dimensional representation of a meteorite crater landscape rendered in antiqued black rhodium-plated relief, evoking the rugged surface of an extraterrestrial rock formation. At the upper portion of the design, a genuine Pallavin meteorite specimen is inlaid as a cabochon, displaying its characteristic golden-yellow olivine crystals (pallasites). The contrasting areas surrounding the inlay are finished in polished gold, emphasising the meteoritic inclusion. The fineness and weight inscription 1/10 OZ .9999 Au appears in the lower field in Latin letters. The combination of black rhodium texture and bright gold accents creates a striking multi-tonal aesthetic. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Pallavin meteorite is a pallasite — a class so visually distinctive and structurally rare that fewer than 100 confirmed pallasites exist in recorded collections worldwide. Pallasites form at the core-mantle boundary of differentiated asteroids, making each specimen a fragment of a planetary body that never finished becoming a planet. Gabon's use of actual meteorite inlay rather than printed simulation places verifiable extraterrestrial material directly into the flan — the rhodium plating isolates the inlay chemically, preventing oxidation contact between the gold substrate and the olivine-iron matrix.
