Gabon issues collector coins under the Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale framework, which pools monetary authority across six Central African states. These silver-plated copper issues are produced almost exclusively for the European and Asian novelty collector market — they do not circulate in Gabon and are rarely encountered there at all.
