| Reverse description | A detailed bust of the German philosopher Immanuel Kant is depicted facing slightly left, portrayed in 18th-century attire including a buttoned waistcoat with ornamental clasps and a powdered wig with side curls, rendered in high sculptural relief against a deeply mirrored field. The legend IMMANUEL KANT arcs along the upper periphery, and the dates 1724-1804 appear along the lower periphery denoting his birth and death years. The year of issue 2004 is inscribed in small characters to the right of the bust in the field. |

| Additional information |
The Republic of the Congo has issued a long-running series of silver pieces honoring Western philosophers, scientists, and historical figures — a program with no particular connection to Congolese history, driven almost entirely by the European collector market through third-party licensing arrangements. Kant died in 1804, and the 2004 issue marks the bicentenary of his death.
He spent his entire life within roughly 150 kilometers of Königsberg, never leaving Prussia.
