Beschrijving keerzijde A finely detailed engraving of the three-masted sailing vessel HMS Bounty under full sail dominates the central field, rendered in a classic nautical illustrative style with rigging, yards, and billowing sails depicted with great precision. The ship is shown in a three-quarter starboard view, riding gently cresting waves. The legend H.M.S. BOUNTY arcs along the upper periphery in spaced Latin capitals. The commemorative dates 1784 - 2008 appear in the lower exergual area, marking the vessel's historical and numismatic anniversary.

Aanvullende informatie

The Ivory Coast has no historical connection to HMS Bounty — this is a collector-market issue, one of dozens of themed silver pieces struck under license and attributed to West African CFA franc issuers primarily because the arrangement requires no central bank infrastructure and faces minimal regulatory friction. The actual minting was almost certainly contracted to a European private mint.

The Bounty mutiny occurred in April 1789, three weeks out of Tahiti.
