Beschrijving voorzijde The national coat of arms of Burkina Faso occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a central five-pointed star, flanked by two rearing horses as supporters, with crossed spears behind the shield and an open book below. A scroll above the shield bears the country name BURKINA FASO, while a lower scroll carries the national motto in three segments. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO arcs around the upper field, and the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed prominently at the base.

Aanvullende informatie

The Euryalus was a fifth-rate frigate present at Trafalgar in October 1805, and it was her captain, Henry Blackwood, who signaled Nelson's famous flag message across the fleet. After the battle, she took the crippled Victory in tow. Burkina Faso's numismatic program — like many small francophone states — licenses designs through European distributors targeting collector markets with no organic connection to the subject matter.

The ship series issued under this program has no historical or cultural tie to Burkina Faso.
