| 正面描述 | The national coat of arms of Côte d'Ivoire is depicted centrally in the field, featuring a shield charged with an elephant head above a rising sun, flanked by two palm trees and surmounted by a radiant sun. A scroll beneath the shield bears the inscription REPUBLIQUE DE COTE D'IVOIRE. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DE COTE-D'IVOIRE arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin lettering, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is prominently inscribed in two lines across the lower field. |

The blesbok (Damaliscus pygargus phillipsi) never lived anywhere near Ivory Coast. This coin is one of dozens issued under the BCEAO framework by West African states licensing their nominal authority to European minting operations — primarily Pomarius and the Swiss PAMP network — to produce wildlife-themed collector pieces aimed squarely at the European and Asian numismatic market. Ivory Coast had no editorial input into the subject matter.
By 2007, this business model was generating hundreds of distinct issues annually across ECOWAS member states.
