Beschrijving voorzijde	The central field displays the arms of the Republic of Togo, featuring two rampant lions flanking a shield inscribed with the monogram 'RT', surmounted by two crossed national flags each bearing a five-pointed star. Three scrolled banners carry the national motto 'TRAVAIL LIBERTE PATRIE'. The legend 'REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE' arcs along the upper periphery in bold raised lettering, while the denomination '1000 FRANCS' is inscribed along the lower periphery. The design is bordered by a beaded inner rim.

Aanvullende informatie	Togo's wildlife-themed silver issues of the mid-2000s were produced under the BCEAO framework but marketed almost exclusively through European numismatic distributors, never seeing domestic circulation. The boomslang — a rear-fanged colubrid whose venom was largely underestimated by herpetologists until the 1957 death of Karl Schmidt, a prominent American zoologist who fatally misjudged a bite — made for an unusual subject choice, given the snake's range is almost entirely southern and eastern Africa, well outside Togolese territory.
