| Obverse description | Draped bust of a Taiwanese aboriginal figure facing left, wearing an elaborate feathered headdress and beaded necklace, all within an inner circle. A small circular emblem bearing the Togolese coat of arms appears at the top of the inner circle. A rectangular cartouche in the lower field bears the Chinese characters 台灣原住民 (Taiwan Indigenous People). The legend REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE arcs along the upper border, and the denomination 1000 FRANCS appears along the lower border, both separated from the inner circle by a beaded dotted ring. Two floral rosettes flank the legend in the outer field. |
