| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Burkina Faso occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a five-pointed star, supported by two rearing horses, with crossed spears behind the shield and an open book below. A ribbon above the shield bears the legend BURKINA FASO, while a second scroll below carries the national motto divided into three parts. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO arcs around the upper field, and the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in bold relief along the lower rim. |

| Reverse description | A romanticized full-figure portrait of the infamous female pirate Anne Bonny dominates the field, depicted in three-quarter view standing at a ship's helm wheel, wearing a tricorn hat, belted vest, and a shoulder bandolier. She raises a flintlock pistol in her right hand, from which a large parrot with spread wings launches upward. The planked hull of a sailing vessel forms the background to the right. The legend ANNE BONNY arcs across the upper left field, and the inscription 1OZ AG .999 appears vertically along the right rim, denoting the coin's silver content and purity. |

| Additional information |
Anne Bonny was an Irish-born pirate active in the Caribbean during the early 18th century, operating alongside Calico Jack Rackham until their capture off Jamaica in 1720. She was never executed — her fate after pleading pregnancy in court remains genuinely unknown, which is unusual for a figure of her notoriety. Burkina Faso's numismatic program has issued extensively in this vein, licensing its mint authority to produce collector pieces with no domestic circulation relevance whatsoever.
Rackham was hanged; Bonny reportedly visited him in prison and told him he died like a dog.
