Additional information

Anne Bonny was an Irish-born pirate active in the Caribbean during the early 18th century, operating alongside Calico Jack Rackham until their capture off Jamaica in 1720. She was never executed — her fate after pleading pregnancy in court remains genuinely unknown, which is unusual for a figure of her notoriety. Burkina Faso's numismatic program has issued extensively in this vein, licensing its mint authority to produce collector pieces with no domestic circulation relevance whatsoever.

Rackham was hanged; Bonny reportedly visited him in prison and told him he died like a dog.
