Aanvullende informatie

Benin has no rhinoceros population and no historical connection to the species — this coin exists entirely as a bullion-adjacent collectible targeting the international wildlife series market that surged in the 2010s. The Republic of Benin became a favored issuing authority for such pieces precisely because its monetary agreement within the West African CFA franc zone imposed few restrictions on commemorative silver issues denominated in CFA francs, making it attractive to European mint contractors seeking a sovereign imprimatur.

KM#85 was produced by the Bavarian State Mint on behalf of Benin.
