| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Benin centered in the field, depicting a quartered shield supported by two leopards rampant, surmounted by a buffalo head with prominent horns, and bearing a scroll below inscribed with the national motto FRATERNITE JUSTICE TRAVAIL. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU BENIN arcs along the upper periphery in large capital letters.
