Obverse description Printed in dark brown and yellow-ochre tones, the obverse is framed by an elaborate guilloche border enclosing a classical female portrait in three-quarter view, rendered in fine intaglio line engraving within an oval vignette at left. The central field carries the trilingual bank title in bold letterpress above the large numeral '1000', with the denomination expressed in German, French, and Italian. Issuing authority, legal basis, and place and date of issue are set in smaller letterpress text in the lower portion of the note.
