Comments

Europa Island is an uninhabited French territory in the Mozambique Channel, administered from Réunion and with no resident civilian population whatsoever. It has never had a local economy, a banking system, or any practical need for currency. Notes issued under its name are fantasy pieces — produced for the collector market without any legal tender basis or issuing authority in the conventional sense.

The polymer substrate and the 2018 date place this squarely in the wave of collector-targeted "island territory" fantasy notes that proliferated through that decade.
