Reverse description The central device depicts the old Friday Mosque (Ancienne Mosquée du Vendredi) of Moroni, rendered in fine detail showing its characteristic cylindrical minaret rising above a colonnaded terrace supported by decorative arched piers. Two olive or laurel branches flank the base of the structure symmetrically in the lower field. In the upper left, an Arabic inscription reading 'بنك القمور' (Banque des Comores) curves along the inner border. To the upper right, a rectangular cartouche encloses the Monnaie de Paris privy mark alongside the date '2002' and a ring of small stars. A mintmaster's mark appears at the base of the design, and a beaded border encircles the entire composition.
