1000 Francs

The BEAC 1000 Francs series covering 2002–2022 circulated across six member states of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community — Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — each distinguished by a letter suffix in the serial number. The "U" in Pick 207U designates Cameroon. Five different signature combinations across the series reflect two decades of rotating governor and controller appointments at the Yaoundé-based institution.

Oberthur Fiduciaire's Chantepie plant has handled BEAC production for much of the post-independence period, a continuity that sits somewhat ironically against the political turbulence of several member states during these same years.
