Opmerkingen

The Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale — the BEAC — was restructured in 1972 to serve six member states simultaneously, meaning any given note in this series circulated across Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon. The specific republic of issue is identified by a letter code printed on the note; the Congo issues carry the letter "C." Oberthur's Chantepie facility handled much of francophone Africa's currency production through this period, and the workmanship on the BEAC series is generally consistent across denominations.

Mamalepot served as BEAC Governor; Mebara signed as the Congolese national representative, a dual-signature arrangement that reflects the bank's supranational structure.
