The Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale — BEAC — replaced the earlier BCEAEC structure in April 1973, and this note belongs to the transitional period immediately following that reorganization, when the six member states were still adapting to shared monetary governance under a new framework. Chad was already experiencing the early pressures of the long civil conflict that would define its politics through the 1980s, meaning circulation conditions in the interior were often far from orderly.

Four signature combinations appear across the series, reflecting genuine staff turnover at the institution during the issue window — Oye Mba's appearance as Governor marks the later printings.
