Reverse description Printed in blue on plain paper. The central vignette presents the Great Mosque of Djenné, the celebrated Sudano-Sahelian earthen architecture landmark, with figures in the foreground and a large watermark void to the right. The denomination numeral 1000 appears in each of the four corners, with MILLE FRANCS in a panel across the lower centre, all framed by guilloche borders and rosette ornaments.
