Obverse description Multicolour intaglio vignette of a man carrying a large woven basket of cocoa pods on his head, set against a lush tropical plantation background with cocoa trees bearing ripe pods at left. The denomination 1000 appears in the upper corners flanking the bank title BANQUE CENTRALE at top, with ONE THOUSAND FRANCS and MILLE FRANCS inscribed centrally and at the lower margin respectively. Decorative geometric border panels in purple, blue, and gold frame the note on both sides, and two manuscript signatures appear in the central field above the denomination text.
