The EURion constellation — those small rings scattered across modern banknotes — was developed in the late 1990s specifically to defeat photocopier and scanner software, and its inclusion here reflects the Hungarian National Bank's alignment with European anti-counterfeiting standards well ahead of euro adoption. Magyar Pénzjegynyomda has produced domestic currency since 1926 and remains one of the few central European countries printing its own notes entirely in-house.
Vagyóczky handled both design and engraving on the obverse — an unusual concentration of authorship for a note of this period.
