Obverse description Central intaglio portrait vignette of King Matthias Corvinus (Mátyás Király), the celebrated 15th-century Hungarian monarch, set against a fine guilloche underprint. The Hungarian coat of arms appears at the lower centre, while the Magyar Nemzeti Bank logo is positioned at the upper left. The denomination 1000 EZER FORINT is lettered across the note alongside the issuing authority inscription MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK.

Reverse description The Hercules Fountain from the Royal Palace of Visegrád is rendered in intaglio at the centre, recalling the Renaissance splendour of Matthias Corvinus's court in northern Hungary. The denomination and palace name are inscribed across the design, with the engravers' names noted in the lower margin.
