Obverse description Gray-blue on red-brown and multicolor underprint; a portrait vignette of King Dinis I (Dom Diniz) occupies the right side, balanced by a decorative pillar at left and the Portuguese Coat of Arms at upper center. Intaglio lettering and guilloche border patterns frame the central composition, with the Chapa 9 designation identifying this as the ninth printing of the series. The overall color scheme and fine-line guilloche work are characteristic of the Enschedé printing house's craftsmanship.
