| Obverse description | An oval intaglio portrait vignette of Mousinho de Albuquerque in military uniform is positioned at right, with the Portuguese arms at upper centre flanked by ornate guilloche borders. The denomination MIL ESCUDOS is rendered in large intaglio lettering at centre, beneath which appear the date Lisboa, 31 de Julho de 1959 and two signature lines. Serial numbers are placed at upper right and lower left within finely executed lathe-work margins. |
