Opmerkingen

Cabo Verde's 1000 Escudos was the highest denomination in regular circulation for most of this series' lifespan, issued by a central bank that had only been established in 1975 following independence from Portugal. Thomas De La Rue printed the series across a decade-long span — the 1992–2002 date range reflects reissues rather than a single continuous print run, with signature combinations changing as the bank's governorship turned over.

Watermark-only security was already considered light for a top-denomination note by the mid-1990s, and the series was eventually superseded by a polymer-based redesign.
