| 备注 |
Chile's Escudo was already collapsing in value by the time this note entered circulation. Inflation had exceeded 600% annually by late 1973, meaning a 1000 Escudo note was worth almost nothing within months of issue. The military coup of September 1973 brought Pinochet's junta to power mid-series, yet production continued through 1975 under the same Banco Central authority — the institutional name unchanged even as the government above it was entirely replaced.
The Escudo itself was abolished in 1975, replaced by the Peso at a rate of 1000 Escudos to 1 Peso. This note, in other words, expired at exactly its face value in the new currency: one Peso.
