| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse of this rectangular gold-plated silver issue features the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia prominently in the upper central field, depicting the traditional quartered shield supported by an eagle and a lion, with the sword, chain, and ear of wheat below. The denomination '1000' appears in large numerals in the lower central field, accompanied by the bilingual inscription 'դրամ dram' beneath. The legend 'REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA' is inscribed horizontally across the lower portion of the obverse, while the Armenian text 'ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ' runs vertically along the right border. The overall design is executed in a polished, high-relief style befitting a proof-quality commemorative issue. |

The Nshan — a cross-shaped reliquary pendant worn by Armenian clergy — carries specific ecclesiastical rank distinctions within the Armenian Apostolic Church, one of the oldest Christian institutions in continuous existence. This issue belongs to Armenia's long-running series documenting sacred objects from that tradition, a program the Central Bank began partly in response to strong collector demand from the Armenian diaspora, which numbers roughly three times the population of Armenia itself.
